SHEPARD'S PIE



INGREDIENTS: 

500 g minced meat (Mutton/beef/chicken) 

1 large finely chopped Onion

1 large Finely chopped tomato

4 finely chopped green chillies

2 tbs chilli flakes 

1 tbs red chilli powder

½ tsp turmeric powder

1 tbs coriander powder

1 tbs garam masala

2 tbs ginger garlic paste

1 tsp pepper Powder

Salt to taste

250 g butter 

2 tbs oil

3 - 4 potatoes 

250 g Shredded cheddar cheese

100 g shredded mozzarella cheese


METHOD: 

(To make Minced meat) 

Heat oil In a non stick pan, add onions and fry until golden brown. Add ginger garlic paste and tomato and saute until tomato is soft add half cup water. Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala and salt to taste. Saute well until all the masala is cooked. Add the minced meat and mix well. Add a little water if need be. (Do not add more water as we want the minced meat to be absolutely dry.) Once the meat is cooked keep aside. 


(To make mashed potatoes) 

Boil potatoes and mash them until smooth. Add butter, salt to taste, chilli flakes and pepper Powder and mix well. 


(Making Layers from SHEPARD'S PIE)

In a making dish make a layer of mashed potatoes then a layer of minced meat. Then add a layer of shredded mozzarella cheese. Again add a layer of mashed potatoes, Followed by minced meat and a layer of shredded cheddar cheese on the top this time. Put this in a pre


heated oven on 350* f bake for 15 mints. Then put on Broil/grill on 400*f for 5 - 7 mints for a golden brown crust on the top. (The temperature might differ according to the oven so keep monitoring & do not let it burn.) Serve hot with tomato Ketchup.
