Ingredients:
½ cup chana Dal
½ cup moong Dal
½ cup urad dal
½ tsp Garam masala
1 ½ tsp ginger garlic paste
1 onion finely chopped
4 green chillies
3 tbs mint finely chopped
Handful of Coriander leaves finely chopped
½ tsp cumin seeds
2 red chillies
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying
Method:
Coarsely blend cumin & red chillies keep aside.
Wash & soak lentils for 2 hours, then blend all the lentils together to make a thick batter like consistency. If require sprinkle some water while blending. (Not too much).
To this paste, add Garam masala, ginger garlic paste, coriander leaves, mint leaves, green chillies, Onion & the ground red chilli + cumin mixture and mix well.
Heat the oil for deep frying.
Once the oil is heated, pick up small portions of the batter shape them like small balls and drop it in hot oil. You can drop 2 or 3 depending on the size of the pan.
After 2 mints flip the dal vadas to the other side. Fry until golden & crisp.
Repeat this process until all the batter is finished.
Dal vada is ready to serve with raw Onions, fried green chillies & lemons!!
